WANT TO TURN BACK TIME?
Getting older is part of life; looking older doesn’t have to be. Lines, wrinkles and loose skin on your face and neck can bring you down and affect your self-esteem. But a face lift can give you a more youthful look – and a new lease of life.
WHAT IS A FACE LIFT?
It’s an operation to tighten and lift the soft tissues of your face and neck to reduce the signs of ageing.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A FACE LIFT?
The procedure is performed under a general anaesthetic and usually takes between two-three hours.
TYPES OF FACE LIFT…
SMAS face lift
This is the most common type of face lift. It raises and tightens the loose skin and tissue in your neck, chin, jaw-line and lower cheeks. The deeper layer of tough tissue under your skin is also tightened.
MACS face lift
This is a variation of the SMAS face lift however suspension stitches are used to tighten the loose skin. A MACS face lift involves less surgery but the results may not last as long as an SMAS procedure.
These include the mid-face lift and composite face lift. Both of these lift deeper layers of the face and are suitable if you have sagging of the cheeks and upper face.
WHERE DOES IT TAKE PLACE?
At either the Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital or Spire Leeds Hospital.
